FAQs

Have a question? You aren’t alone! Here’s a few questions others had before they became clients of mine. Feel free to reach out if you don’t find what you need.

+ Do you take insurance?

I do not accept insurance, nor can I because payment is based on diagnosis and treatment (which I do not do).

However, if you have a FSA or HSA account, you can inquire with your provider to see if funds can be used towards my services, programs, and/or supplements.

+ What payment options are available?

Services can be paid in full or through monthly payments which are charged automatically each month. There is a slight discount provided for paying in full. Any debit or major credit card is accepted and payments are processed through my client management platform.

If finances are a limiting factor, we can discuss an extended payment plan. I never want this work to be an added stressor so I’m willing to make accommodations if possible so that you’re able to get the support you need.

Costs for supplements will be additional, but discounts are available if you choose to purchase through my Fullscript dispensary.

+ Will I need to follow a specific diet or cut out foods?

Let me start by saying this: my nutrition approach is an additive one that views food primarily through a neutral lens.

What I mean is that I don’t focus on restriction, especially to start. Too many women have been taught to do that their whole lives- influenced by harmful messages from diet culture and as a result, now out of touch with their bodies and needs. Their default is to go on a diet, follow someone else’s rules about food, and stress and obsess over nutrition and what they “can’t” or “shouldn’t” eat- which isn’t the path to nourishment, healing, or vibrant health and happiness.

Together, we’ll prioritize what specific foods you can add in and what dietary habits you can implement to maximize nourishment and help your body function better.

Of course, this doesn’t mean your plan won’t ever include suggestions for foods to eliminate or reduce. However, we’ll always be realistic about what’s doable and sustainable for you, never expecting perfection. Plus while I aim to be as objective about food and nutrition as possible, I also always honor important non-physical aspects (emotional, social, cultural, etc.).

No matter what, I recommend what I feel is best for you based on my training and clinical experience and taking into account your health history, caloric and nutrient needs, symptoms, goals, stress levels, lab results, preferences, and more. I never utilize cookie cutter nutrition plans- nutritional therapy is highly customized to you.

Something else that’s important to understand is that when we work together, you never need to do anything you don’t want to do or that doesn’t feel good. I respect that you're an autonomous adult with your own innate body wisdom. I’m here to act as a guide on your journey, but it's ultimately directed by you.

I always strive to be flexible and accommodating- but within reason. I know that change is complicated and can feel overwhelming and uncomfortable. If you have any hesitancy to implement what I recommend, we will work through it together and adapt accordingly. But it’s not my job to enable you or only tell you what you want to hear, either.

This process will take work and can be filled with ups and downs, especially as you break old habits not serving you and adopt new ones that do. But this is one reason you hire a practitioner to help you move through it, stay accountable, and get the transformation you seek. Trust me and the process and know I’m on your side, always.

+ Will nutritional or herbal supplements be required?

Nutritional supplements will be recommended as part of your personalized plan to provide deeper, more targeted support and replenishment and help to bridge gaps in the healing process. Especially due to our modern lifestyles- chronic stress, toxin exposure, nutrient-poor soil and more- and how common nutrient deficiencies and mineral imbalances are, I am very pro-supplementation. Plus they can help us make bigger changes in a shorter time period.

I do prefer using food-based and herbal supplements in my practice to provide what the body can utilize best and only suggest the highest quality brands (many that are only available through a practitioner). I also prioritize your body's specific needs, healing priorities, and symptoms and aim to keep supplements as simple as possible (including helping you audit any you're currently taking).

Supplements are never required, but expectations need to be adjusted accordingly. Rebalancing the body can take more time and diet and other habits will need to be more robust and specific.

+ Do you offer lab testing?

I utilize various functional labs in my practice including hair tissue mineral testing, comprehensive stool testing, food sensitivity testing, comprehensive hormone testing, and specific bloodwork panels. I offer all tests at cost (i.e. I do not upcharge for the labs). These tests are only available in 6-month or longer containers.

+ Will we stay in touch between sessions?

Of course. We meet once per month via video chat, but you have access to me via Voxer (voice memo and text messaging) between sessions. This is where you can ask questions and send updates, plus we can troubleshoot and make adjustments as needed (or make note of things we want to address on our next call). You also receive Alignment Check-in Forms to help monitor your progress and celebrate wins weekly or biweekly, depending on the plan chosen.

+ How long will it take to feel better?

It depends- factors like the severity of your symptoms, your health history, any healing blocks that need to be overcome, and of course your pace and consistency with recommendation implementation matter. The last thing we want to do is rush through this process as it’s very comprehensive.

The good news is that your journey is customized to you, prioritizing the areas that will provide the most bang for your buck. So it’s possible to feel better within a matter of weeks, even days of protocol implementation.

For most women, it takes at least a full month for symptoms to noticeably improve and I suggest 3-4 months of making intentional changes and integrating new habits to give the body time to adjust and layers to be peeled back over time.

Changes can seem dramatic but are typically more subtle. Some women I work with wake up one day and notice for example, their bloat is gone or their period isn’t painful anymore. But many more have realizations over time- like they’re handling stress better, aren’t as snappy with their kids, or have energy to workout once the baby is asleep.

For those dealing with more complex symptoms and health struggles, working together for at least 6 months is suggested. But no matter how long we work together, you can expect to continue your healing journey for that amount of time at minimum- for most, 1-2 years (which in the grand scheme of things, is actually a short amount of time). The ultimate goal is integrating this work into your life and making changes step-by-step.

One important thing to remember is this: Your journey is your own and will be a lot more impactful and enjoyable when you put your ego aside, respect your body’s healing priorities, and don’t put pressure on yourself. It’s also really helpful to have fun with it- fall in love with the process of taking care of you!

+ How do I know if I'm ready?

If you’re so over feeling terrible in your body and are ready to feel amazing and know it’s possible for you- you’re ready.

If you’re willing and able to invest in yourself, make yourself a top priority, and commit to your health and healing- you’re ready.

If you’re excited to learn and do the work, feel empowered by taking responsibility, and are itching to get started- you’re ready.

If you’re reading through this all and nodding your head as you go, if you followed me on social media or been on my email list and always resonate with what I share, if you read client stories of mine and feel inspired- you’re ready.

This work is powerful and can be absolutely life-changing, but it’s not easy nor is it a quick fix. I’m honest about that but it’s a huge reason why I commit to holding up my end of the bargain. I do whatever is in my power to ensure you’ve got all the support you need to make change. But you’ve got to hold up yours, too. That’s where transformation happens.
